Angel Beats! Introduction and Opening
Angel Beats! (エンジェルビーツ) is set in the afterlife and follows the activities of the SSS (死んだ世界戦線, Shinda Sekai Sensen, Afterlife War Front) as they fight against God. The script is written by Jun Maeda who worked on the visual novels Air and Clannad. Therefore, we can expect to see an interesting plot line which goes above and beyond the plots of most other series.
The opening song is My Soul, Your Beats!, sung by Lia (who sung Air's beautiful OP - Tori no Uta). At first the song seems quite calm with a lovely piano backing track but soon enough it speeds up. The opening itself seems to focus on Tenshi playing the piano (in sync to the song) and introducing all of the characters, before showing clips from the second episode. The CD single is set to be released on the 26th of May.
Update: The opening changes slightly with each episode based on the events that will take place within the episode, this can be previews or even a complete change!
When They Cry – Higurashi – Opening and Introduction
When They Cry - Higurashi (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/ひぐらしのなく頃に) is a murder mystery set in the town small of Hinamizawa. The series focuses on Keiichi, who recently moved to the town and quickly finds out about the town's dark past. The series sounds very interesting and i'm sure that it's plot is going to be very unpredictable and leave me in a state of suspense between each episode.
The opening nicely sets the tone for the series, being very creepy and giving a strong sense of foreboding. The opening song Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (yes, same as the anime's title) is sung by Shimamiya Eiko, a video can be found at the end of this post.

Looks like doors for a missile silo, i'm sure it's actual purpose will be revealed within the series
A Certain Scientific Railgun Opening 2
Last night's episode (15) of A Certain Scientific Railgun contained a new opening sequence, not surprising for a 26 episode series. The song used is LEVEL5-Judgelight- by fripSide who also sung the first opening (only my railgun). The song itself is upbeat and has a fair amount of bass like only my railgun but doesn't have the same feel to it, however it is still a very nice opening song.
The opening's animation is initially somewhat static and slow, but soon gets going and is nicely in tune with the song.
I've uploaded a lot more screencaps than I normally would, but a lot happens in this 2nd OP. Hopefully the remaining episodes of Railgun are just as good!
Utawarerumono OVA Opening
I've recently started watching the Utawarerumono OVAs (Have watched the main series, posts about that to come soon). There is a new opening in the OVAs and it's difficult to see when the OVA side story is set in comparison to the main series. For a start, we see all of the main characters from the main series but based on the fact it shows Kuuya acting as a child and Yuzuha alive it would appear to be set towards the end of the main series. Alternatively, some episodes may be set within the timeline of the main series but others before/after? Who knows, I can only find out by watching the actual OVA episodes.
The opening itself is unusually long at around 2 minutes but quite detailed, showing all of the characters we expect to see. The song used in it is adamant faith by Suara.
And the actual opening itself;
